Course Selection Resources

Here you will find resources to help you select courses and register for each semester. The current general catalog is now available on-line.  Previous catalog versions can also be found by clicking here.

Enrolling in Classes

Before you meet with your advisor, you should look over the course offerings on TruView for the next semester.   Instructions on how to enroll for classes will be included on TruView.  You should meet with your advisor at least 1-2 weeks before your personal registration date. You will need to bring a list of courses that you think you should enroll in next semester, along with several alternatives. Prior to the meeting, make sure you check prerequisites, restrictions, and any special enrollment procedures (found on TruView under open course list). It is your responsibility to find the days, times, and semesters each course is offered and obtain any necessary course overrides. After meeting with you, your Advisor will clear you for registration via TruView.

Certain classes in the degree may require a “course override” to enroll. This means you will have to obtain special permission to enroll in the class.  Check this web page as you prepare your class selection, and be on the look out for e-mails from the HES office.

The HES Program has created a general recommended 4-Year Sequence for the Athletic Training major, the Exercise Science major, and the Health Science major. While this document should help guide you in the sequencing of your classes, keep in mind that it is “utopian”. The availability of classes will most likely not allow you to enroll in classes in the exact order as they appear on the sequence. What is important is that you are familiar with the prerequisites, restrictions, and fall/spring/summer only offerings, so that you can plan your own schedule accordingly.

The HES add/drop policy differs from the Registrar's deadlines.  If you wish to add or drop an HES course, you must do so within one week (7 calendar days) after the first day of classes for full semester classes and within one day after the first day of classes for block classes.   For example, if classes start on Thursday, August 25, you would have until Thursday, September 1 to add or drop a full semester class and until Friday, August 26 to add or drop a block course.

See the Registrar's website for additional information regarding registration.
