Pre-Medical Sciences Specialization

Pre-Medicine

The Pre-Medical Sciences specialization can be used to prepare students for entry into medical school.  Please visit the Truman Pre-Medical advising page for more information related to admission to medical school.  

Students in this specialization complete the required support, Bachelor of Science requirements, core requirements and 6 hours from the core electives section as general requirements for a degree in Exercise Science.  Please refer to the Exercise Science General Information page for more information about general ES requirements.  Students choosing the pre-medical sciences specialization complete the following coursework:

CHEM 131 Chemical Principles II # 5
ES 370 Field Experience in Exercise Science (variable 1-4 credit) 1-4
PHYS 185 College Physics I 4
ES 505 Advanced Biomechanical Analyses* (3)
Additional courses as needed to reach 15 hours, as approved by academic advisor. variable
*ES 505 strongly recommended for students interested in Orthopedics, but not required.
# The prerequisite for CHEM 131 should be taken to fulfill the Physical Science LSP requirements.
