Mission
The Missouri Association for Health, Physical Education,
Recreation, and Dance is a professional organization structured for the
purpose of supporting, encouraging, and providing assistance to initiate
and conduct programs in health, physical education, and movement related
activities for the enrichment of human life.
The Association has four major priorities:
- Promoting quality health and physical education for every child
in pre-school through grade 12, so that they develop and continue
a healthy active lifestyle.
- Increasing the public's appreciation of the health, physical education,
recreation, and dance professions.
- Providing needed publications and programs for all professionals
with special efforts focused on providing professional development
to improve curriculum, consistent with the Show Me Standards and
the Healthy Active Living Curriculum Framework.
- Cooperative efforts with other agencies to promote coordinated
school health programs.
