Course Overrides

The open course lists for Spring 2010 is now available for use by currently enrolled students and advisors via TruView.  Course overrides may be given for a number of issues:  major restriction, prerequisite restriction, time conflict, capacity, etc.  To obtain a course override for a specific course, you must obtain the permission of the course instructor.  The instructor will then notify the division secretary to enter the override on the student record and an e-mail will be sent to the student advising them that the override has been entered.

You may notice some courses with an "AR" designation.  These courses require special permission to be obtained from the Division/Program prior to enrollment.

Stop by the HES Office to fill out the proper form for ES 375/HLTH 374 Independent Studies, or ES 470/HLTH 470 Research in ES/HS.  Or simply download it here!

Looking for BIOL 365 Human Anatomy?

BIOL 365 Human Anatomy is initially restricted to junior and senior HES majors only.  At the end of the pre-registration period, we may have a number of seats (to be determined) in the five sections, available first-come, first-serve, for non-majors or sophomore HES majors.  All restrictions will be removed at that point.  Students must enroll in both lecture and the corresponding lab section.  Simply enroll during open registration/add drop. During the spring semester, one section of BIOL 365 may be offered for non-majors only.

Looking for HLTH 245/HLTH 255/HLTH 260/HLTH 361?

Exercise Science students following the pattern of Physical Education/Health/Coaching are required to enroll in HLTH 245, HLTH 255, HLTH 260, and HLTH 361.  As these four courses are entered as "Health Majors" only, a major restriction override will be entered into the Banner system for all students following this pattern.   For a double-check, please don't hesitate to stop by the HES Office in Pershing Building 334.

What about Field Experience?

If you plan to complete your internship in Summer 2010, you must adhere to the procedures stated in the Field Experience manual.  You will not be allowed to enroll for the ES/HLTH 370 Field Experience course until AFTER the spring meeting dates, usually in mid-April.  More information can be obtained from our website at http://hes.truman.edu/fieldexp.asp.
