Chris Lantz

What
does he do?
Dr. Lantz joined the Health and Exercise Sciences faculty in
1995 and is currently an associate professor at Truman. He
also serves as the Department Chair. Dr. Lantz has taught
a variety of courses including Exercise and Sport Psychology,
Social Problems in Sport, Motor Learning and Control, Research
Methods, and a Junior Interdisciplinary Seminar entitled
Potent Potables. Dr. Lantz has served as research
mentor for several student projects which have been presented at
the state and national levels or published in scholarly
journals. He currently serves as the president-elect for
the Missouri Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. He has also served on a variety of
committees for various national organizations. Dr. Lantz
and his students focus most of their research on body image
issues and their impact on exercise behavior. E-mail Dr.

On a more personal level

Dr. Lantz and his wife Tracey have two children,
Savannah (age 7) and Jackson (age 4) and a golden retriever
named Zarley. When he is not working, Dr. Lantz can
usually be found playing with his kids, exercising, reading,
fishing, or listening to blues music.
A
big Jimmy Buffett fan, Dr. Lantz is also founder and Benevolent
Dictator for Life of the Captain NEMO Parrothead Club.
