Admissions and Articulation Agreement between

TRUMAN STATE UNIVERSITY

and

THE ARIZONA SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES, [A School of A.T. Still University of Health Sciences]

This agreement acts as an understanding between the Arizona School of Health Sciences (ASHS), as school of A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, and Truman State University.  Effective February 1, 2003,  ASHS agrees to provide applicants with the opportunity to receive priority consideration for admission to the Occupational Therapy program offered in Mesa, Arizona.  Under this agreement, all applicants from Truman State University qualifying for priority consideration for admission will be guaranteed an interview pending verification of required credentials during the rolling admissions process from June 1-March 1 of each year prior to matriculation.  Applicants wishing to apply for admission to ASHS through this articulation who are unable to meet the March 1 deadline due to extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on an individual basis.

ASHS agrees to give priority consideration for admissions into each first year Occupational Therapy class, beginning with the year 2003 entering class, to those students from Truman State University who meet the following criteria:

  • Receive a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from Truman State University by the end of the summer session prior to enrollment at ASHS
  • Maintain a 3.25 overall and science grade point average on all college coursework (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Achieve a minimum combined score of 1000 on quantitative and verbal parts of the GRE, and a minimum 3.0 on the writing portion of the GRE
  • Satisfy all ASHS admission requirements
  • Complete all prerequisite courses by the end of the spring semester prior to enrollment at ASHS

This agreement will remain in effect indefinitely unless terminated by either party for any reason.  Termination must come with written notice 12 months prior to effective date of termination.


REQUIRED PREREQUISITES

Human Anatomy--one course with lab, minimum of 4 semester/6 quarter hours.
  • BIOL 365 Human Anatomy with lab (4 hours)

English Composition--Two courses of composition, grammar/literature, minimum 6 semester/8 quarter hours.
  • ENG 190 Writing as Critical Thinking (3 hours)

  • JINS 3xx Junior Interdisciplinary Writing course (3 hours)

Humanities--Two courses (e.g. philosophy, religion, literature, fine arts, logic, ethics, foreign language), minimum 6 semester/8 quarter hours.
  • Any two courses from Philosophical/Religious, Aesthetic-Literature, Aesthetic-Fine Art Modes, or Foreign Language (6 hours)

College Algebra or higher--One course, minimum of 3 semester/4 quarter hours.
  • MATH 156 College Algebra or higher (3 hours)

Psychology--3 courses, which must include developmental/child psychology, minimum of 9 semester/12 quarter hours. Abnormal psychology preferred.
  • PSYC 366 Psychology of Abnormal Behavior (3 hours)

  • PSYC 377 Developmental Psychology (3 hours)

  • PSYC 3xx Any additional 300 level Psychology course (3 hours)

 

Science--3 courses for a minimum of 9 semester/12 quarter hours. Human Physiology and Physics preferred.
  • BIOL 325 Human Physiology with Lab (4 hours)

  • PHYS 100 Concepts of Physics OR PHYS 185 College Physics I (4 hours)

  • Any course to fulfill Life Science or Physical Science Mode of Inquiry (4 hours)
