Articulation Agreements

CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY
ADMISSION AND ARTICULATION AGREEMENT
DOCTOR OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY (OTD) PROGRAM


This agreement acts as an understanding between Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions (hereinafter "Creighton SPAHP") and Truman State University (hereinafter "Truman").  Effective November 1, 2003, Creighton SPAHP agrees to provide applicants with the opportunity to receive priority consideration for admission to the Occupational Therapy program offered in Omaha, Nebraska. 

Creighton SPAHP agrees to give priority consideration for admission into each first year Occupational Therapy class, beginning with the year 2004 entering class, to those students from Truman who meet the following criteria:

  • Apply during the rolling admission period of September 1 to March 1.

  • Accumulate 60 semester hours of credit by the end of the summer session prior to enrollment at Creighton SPAHP.

  • Maintain a 3.25 overall grade point average on all college coursework (on a 4.0 scale).

  • Satisfy all Creighton SPAHP admission requirements:

Applicants wishing to apply for admission to the Creighton SPAHP Occupational Therapy program through this articulation who are unable to meet the March 1 deadline due to extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on an individual basis.

This agreement will remain in effect indefinitely unless terminated by either party for any reason.  Termination must come with written notice 12 months prior to effective date of termination.

Required Prerequisites:

  1. Theology, Philosophy and Ethics-6 semester hours

Two courses meeting Philosophical/Religious Mode of Inquiry or approved JINS course (6 hours)

  1. Cultures, Ideas, and Civilization-6 semester hours, (e.g., history, world religions, American studies, world literature, women's studies)

Course meeting Aesthetic Literature Mode of Inquiry (3 hours)
Course meeting Historical Mode of Inquiry (3 hours)

  1. Natural Sciences-15 semester hours.  One course must be taken from biological sciences and one course must include a lab.

BIOL 107 Introductory Biology I with Lab (4 hours)
BIOL 325 Human Physiology with Lab (4 hours)
BIOL 365 Human Anatomy with Lab (4 hours)
PHYS 100 Concepts of Physics (4 hours);
(or) PHYS 185 College Physics I (4 hours);
(or) HLTH 190 Foundations of Health Science (3 hours);
(or) ES 190 Foundations of Exercise Science (3 hours)

  1. Social and Behavioral Sciences-12 semester hours.  At least one course must be taken from psychology.  Examples:  Anthropology, sociology, social work, political science (Choose 12 hours from the following):

SOAN 190 Sociological Inquiry (3 hours)
SOAN 191 Anthropological Inquiry (3 hours)
PSYC 366 Psychology of Abnormal Behavior (3 hours)
PSYC 377 Developmental Psychology (3 hours)
ES 503 Exercise and Sport Psychology (3 hours)

  1. Creative Expression-9 semester hours

One hands-on fine or performing arts
Course meeting Aesthetic Fine Arts Mode of Inquiry (3 hours)
One composition course must be taken (e.g., dance, music, art, speech, drama, journalism, web design).  Examples: COMM 170 Public Speaking (3 hours); ENG 190 Writing as Critical Thinking (3 hours)

  1. Critical Discovery-1 course in Statistics or Research must be taken.

STAT 190 Basic Statistics (3 hours)

  1. Electives-9 semester hours.  (Examples:  math, economics, foreign language)
